The main goal was to create a cross-platform mobile app for iOS and Android that combines QR code scanning with a cashless payment system to make purchasing services at SOCAR stations faster and more convenient.

Our process for the Mobile Application

We analyzed user needs and SOCAR’s service flow to define key features and user journeys. Particular attention was paid to minimizing the number of steps in the purchasing process.

Our team designed an intuitive interface focused on speed and simplicity. The goal was to ensure users could order fuel or coffee in just a few taps.

The application was developed for both Android (Java) and iOS (Swift), ensuring consistent performance and user experience across devices. Google APIs were also integrated to enable location-based features such as station search and navigation.

QR Code Integration
We implemented QR scanning at fuel pumps and coffee machines using WebSockets, RabbitMQ, and Redis for instant recognition and processing. The app automatically detects the product type and processes the order immediately.

Payment System Implementation
Using Python, Django, Celery, and Redis, we developed a secure cashless payment system. Once the order amount is confirmed, funds are withdrawn from the user’s account, and the cash register prints a receipt remotely.

We performed comprehensive manual testing to ensure the highest quality of deliverables. Our testing included unit tests, functional and non-functional testing, regression, smoke, and other types to ensure a flawless user experience.

Built with Python, Django, Celery, and secure tokenized payment APIs to enable instant, card-free transactions.

Remote receipt generation and storage

Integrated with fiscal printers via Celery and stored in cloud-based databases accessible directly from the app.

Smart coffee machine integration

The app identifies the coffee type from the QR scan, processes the payment, and sends a preparation command to the machine - all without staff involvement.

In-app analytics dashboard

Added tools to collect and visualize QR usage data, enabling SOCAR to measure campaign effectiveness, service popularity, and customer behavior patterns.

Launched a fully functional mobile app
