With over 300 product types, the company specializes in cement, roofing materials, gypsum, and dry construction mixes, producing up to 4 million tons annually and exporting to five countries.

IFCem is a digital transformation project to optimize internal HR processes across the company’s subsidiaries: Ivano-Frankivsk Gypsum, Ivano-Frankivsk Beton, and Ivano-Frankivsk Pokrivlya. Its main task is to create a personalized account for employees, providing staff with secure, real-time access to salary details, leave balances, and work schedules, thereby reducing administrative workload and improving internal communication.

Challenges

Digitizing manual processes: The project goal is to eliminate inefficient, paper-based workflows by digitizing payroll, vacation tracking, and other HR-related tasks.

Legacy system integration: The dashboards had to sync with outdated 1C systems monthly, and future-proof the architecture for SAP migration.

Our process for the Software Development

We began with a thorough discovery phase that included stakeholder interviews and workflow mapping. This helped us identify each subsidiary’s specific needs and define a tailored strategy for delivering three independent, yet functionally consistent, dashboards.

Our design team utilized Figma to create intuitive, user-friendly wireframes and prototypes that align with business needs and employee expectations. Although initially designed for desktop, we adapted the dashboards for mobile after discovering that over 85% of users accessed them via smartphones. Special attention was given to making complex tabular data, such as payroll and vacation logs, readable and usable on smaller screens.

We implemented a white-label architecture, where each dashboard has its isolated front end (React.js) and back end (Python/Django), ensuring full independence and the possibility of future separation. PostgreSQL was used as the database solution.

A CI/CD pipeline was set up to streamline deployments and reduce time-to-market. Our QA team conducted continuous functional, usability, and security testing to ensure system stability and compliance with internal data protection policies.

The launch followed a phased deployment plan to minimize disruption. After deployment, we held onboarding sessions and provided training for client-side administrators. Post-launch support included monitoring system performance, validating data synchronization, and resolving user issues.
Thanks to the modular white-label architecture, the system is fully scalable and ready for future feature expansion, such as SAP integration or the addition of new HR modules, with minimal disruption.

Each of the three dashboards - Ivano-Frankivsk Gypsum, Concrete, and Roofing - was built with its own dedicated front-end and back-end infrastructure.

Admins can adjust session settings, access periods, and account policies independently via the Django-based admin panel, without the help of a developer.

Intuitive and user-friendly interface

Simple navigation is designed for employees of all tech skill levels, with easy access to key HR data.

Responsive design for mobile and desktop

While initially designed for desktops, the interface was adapted for mobile too. Complex tabular data is optimized for readability on small screens.

Real-time data updates via 1C integration

The system automatically syncs with 1C each month to ensure employees see the most up-to-date information without manual input.

Strong data security

Auto-logout after inactivity and SMS verification help safeguard sensitive employee information.
